1. Introduction
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how subscriptions, billing, cancellations, and refunds are handled on the Ritva Platform.
It is designed to be straightforward. If you have a question about a charge, a cancellation, or a refund, this document has the answer. If it doesn't, contact us at billing@ritva.ai and we'll sort it out.
This Policy should be read alongside the Terms of Use, which governs your subscription agreement with Ritva.
2. Subscription Plans
Ritva offers subscription plans on a monthly and annual basis. Specific plan names, features, and pricing are displayed on the Platform's pricing page.
Monthly plans are billed once per month and renew automatically on the same date each month.
Annual plans are billed once per year and renew automatically on the same date each year. Annual plans typically offer a discount compared to the equivalent monthly rate.
Enterprise plans for teams and organizations with custom requirements are available separately. Contact us at billing@ritva.ai to discuss enterprise pricing and terms.
Ritva reserves the right to introduce new plan tiers, adjust plan features, or change pricing with reasonable notice. Changes to your active plan pricing will not take effect until your next renewal, and you will be notified in advance.
3. Billing & Payments
Payments are processed through Ritva's authorized payment providers. Ritva primarily uses HDFC Bank Payment Gateway for subscription billing and payment processing. Ritva may also utilize Razorpay or other authorized payment providers as backup, redundancy, regional, or alternative processing solutions where necessary.
By subscribing to a plan, you authorize Ritva to charge your selected payment method through the applicable payment provider at the start of each billing period.
Accepted payment methods are those supported by the active payment provider and displayed at checkout. Accepted methods may include credit cards, debit cards, UPI, net banking, and other payment methods available in your region.
Billing currency is displayed at checkout and may vary by region.
Taxes — applicable taxes, including GST where required under Indian law, will be added to your subscription price at checkout. The amount of tax applied depends on your billing jurisdiction.
Invoices are generated automatically at the start of each billing period and are accessible from your account dashboard. If you require a specific invoice format for accounting purposes, contact billing@ritva.ai.
Ritva does not store your full payment credentials. Card and payment data are processed, tokenized, and securely handled by authorized payment providers in accordance with their applicable security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Depending on your location, payment method, availability, or operational requirements, transactions may be processed through HDFC Bank Payment Gateway, Razorpay, or another authorized payment processing partner selected by Ritva.
4. Automatic Renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically. At the end of each billing period — monthly or annual — your subscription will renew and your payment method will be charged for the next period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
You will receive an email reminder before your annual plan renews. No reminder is sent for monthly renewals, as these occur on a regular, predictable cycle.
To prevent a renewal charge, you must cancel your subscription before the renewal date. Cancellations made on or after the renewal date will not reverse the charge for the period that has already begun.
You can view your next renewal date at any time from your account settings.
5. Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your Ritva subscription at any time. There is no cancellation fee.
How to cancel:
Go to your account settings and select the cancellation option, or contact support@ritva.ai and we will process the cancellation for you.
What happens when you cancel:
- Your subscription will not renew at the next billing date
- You retain full access to the Platform and all features you have subscribed to until the end of your current billing period
- At the end of the billing period, your account will revert to a free tier (if available) or be deactivated, depending on the plan structure at that time
- Your account data, reports, and outputs are retained in accordance with the retention periods described in the Data Compliance document; you may export your data before or after cancellation
Cancellation is not retroactive. Cancelling does not generate a refund for time already paid for within the current billing period, except as described in Section 6.
6. Refund Policy
Monthly Plans
Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable. When you start a monthly subscription or your monthly plan renews, that charge covers the upcoming billing month and is not refunded if you cancel partway through.
Annual Plans
Annual subscription fees are generally non-refundable. However, if you are not satisfied with the Platform and you cancel within 14 days of your annual plan purchase or renewal, you may request a refund by contacting billing@ritva.ai.
Refund requests for annual plans will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We aim to be fair and to resolve requests quickly. To be considered, a refund request must:
- Be submitted within 14 days of the charge date
- Be submitted to billing@ritva.ai with your account email and the reason for the request
- Not be for an account that has already received a refund on a prior annual subscription
Approved refunds for annual plans will be processed to the original payment method within 7–10 business days.
After the 14-day review window, annual plan fees are non-refundable.
Duplicate Charges & Billing Errors
If your account has been charged more than once for the same billing period, or if a charge has been made in error due to a technical or payment processing issue, you are entitled to a full refund of the duplicate or erroneous amount. Contact billing@ritva.ai with your account details and transaction information and we will resolve it promptly.
AI Outputs & Recommendations
Refunds are not issued solely because a user disagrees with, is unsatisfied with, or chooses not to implement AI-generated recommendations, visibility assessments, content suggestions, or audit outputs. The Platform provides analysis and recommendations tools; outcomes depend on many factors outside Ritva's control. Dissatisfaction with specific outputs is not grounds for a refund but is always welcomed as feedback — contact support@ritva.ai or ai@ritva.ai.
7. Failed Payments
If a payment attempt fails — because a card has expired, funds are insufficient, or a payment is declined for any other reason — Ritva will:
- Notify you by email that the payment was unsuccessful and prompt you to update your payment method
- Retry the payment automatically after a short interval, as permitted by our payment processor
- Temporarily restrict access to paid features if payment cannot be collected after the retry period
If payment is not resolved within a reasonable period following the initial failure, your subscription may be suspended. You will retain access to your account data during the suspension period and can restore full access by updating your payment method and completing the outstanding payment.
Ritva is not responsible for service interruptions caused by payment failures resulting from issues with your payment method or financial institution.
8. Plan Changes
Upgrading Your Plan
You may upgrade to a higher plan tier at any time. When you upgrade mid-cycle:
- You will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period at the new plan rate
- The higher plan features become available immediately upon upgrade
- Your next billing date and cycle remain unchanged
Downgrading Your Plan
You may downgrade to a lower plan tier at any time. When you downgrade:
- The downgrade takes effect at the start of your next billing period
- You retain access to your current plan's features until the end of the billing period in which the downgrade was requested
- No partial refund is issued for the difference in plan cost within the current billing period
Switching Between Monthly and Annual
You may switch between a monthly and annual billing cycle. Switching to annual takes effect at your next billing date. Switching from annual to monthly is treated as a downgrade and takes effect at the end of your current annual period.
9. Promotional Offers
From time to time, Ritva may offer promotional pricing, introductory rates, trial periods, or referral credits.
- Promotional rates apply only for the duration and conditions stated in the offer
- At the end of a promotional period, subscriptions revert to the standard plan pricing unless cancelled beforehand
- Trial periods, where offered, do not require payment to begin; after the trial period, the standard subscription rate applies if you choose to continue
- Referral credits and promotional codes are non-transferable, have no cash value, and cannot be combined with other offers unless explicitly stated
- Refund policies for promotionally-priced plans follow the standard refund terms above, applied to the promotional price paid
Details of any active promotional offer will be disclosed at the point of signup or redemption.
10. Exceptional Circumstances
Ritva recognizes that circumstances arise that fall outside standard billing scenarios. We will review refund or credit requests in the following situations:
- Service provisioning failure — if Ritva is unable to provision access to a paid plan due to a Platform error on our side, and the issue is not resolved promptly, a prorated credit or refund may be issued for the affected period
- Extended Platform outage — if a significant, prolonged Platform outage causes material disruption to your ability to use the service, we will review requests for credit or refund for the affected period
- Verified technical billing error — any charge that results from a confirmed error in Ritva's billing system will be refunded in full
- Legal or regulatory requirement — where applicable law requires a refund, Ritva will comply
Exceptional circumstance requests should be submitted to billing@ritva.ai with a description of the issue and any supporting information. We will respond within 5 business days.
11. Policy Updates
Ritva may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in pricing structure, payment providers, or applicable law.
Updated versions will be published at ritva.ai/refunds with a revised effective date. For material changes — such as changes to refund eligibility or the cancellation process — we will notify active subscribers by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
